Café Menu
Much of my ELA instruction is built around a version of the Café Menu/Daily 5. Click here to learn more about how I implimented it to fit the needs of my curriculum.

Vocabulary Development
I instituted an extremely differentiated vocabulary program to help each student learn the words that he or she most needed to know.

Literature Circles
I have literature circles in my class to help students meet the speaking and listening standards, as well as develop reading skills. An important component of this is the ability for them to choose the texts that they read.

Self Assessment/Rubric Creation
I involve my students in the assessment process. They self-assess using rubrics that are created with student input.

Differentiation Activities
There are many ways in which I differentiate instruction throughout the day. Here is just a small sample of how I provide students with choice and meet the unique needs of each child.

Differentiation Resources
One of the ways that I bring differentiation into my instruction is by utilizing websites and apps. I use them as independent, individualized practice for students, and I use them as resources to provide focused interventions to compliment whole class instruction.
