Division Enrichment Activities
If you have passed the division test, you can choose from the following activities:
- Take division to the next step by learning to divide with two-digit divisors on Khan Academy: https://www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-fifth-grade-math/multi-digit-multiplication-and-division#imp-multi-digit-division-2
- Write a division story in a google doc or on paper: Write at least a page long story that sets up a division word problem. On a separate page, include the division equation and solution. Don’t forget what we learned in our last unit about interpreting the remainder.
- For an extra challenge, you can create a story with multiple problems in it or with multi-step problems.
- You can exchange stories with someone to check each other’s work.
- Create a game that someone can play to practice or learn about division with three or four digit dividends.
- Review a concept that you still find difficult or have forgotten from a previous unit. These may include interpreting the remainder in a division word problem, two-digit by two-digit multiplication, or renaming numbers. I can recommend IXL skills, Khan Academy lessons, or set up an assignment for you on Prodigy. You can also schedule a check in with me on the topic.
- Work on Freckle in your goal area or on a goal from your IXL Diagnostic Area.
