This is an example of the rubrics I devised to assess the components of my school’s ELA curriculum. The components were grouped into outcomes that were difficult to test by conventional pencil and paper tests or essays. I would create a rubric for the component and discuss it with the students, making any adjustments needed to the rubric based on the students’ input. The students would then decide what piece of work best demonstrated their mastery and upload it to Seesaw, explaining where they thought it fell on the rubric and why.
